"Hi...I'm Becca and I'm from the little old town of Sevenoaks where I have gone to St. Nicholas church pretty much all my life. This trip to Uganda is an amazing way for me to break out of that safe bubble and to meet some amazing and probably hugely inspiring people. I can't wait to see how the whole team grow in Jesus both together and with the Christians we are going to meet. I wonder what God has in store for us?? Like most of the team I also love sport and next year I'm heading off to Oxford to study Psychology and Physiology."

"I worked as a waiter at the Hydro Hotel. I enjoy playing sports particularly football and volleyball. I will go onto Southampton University next year to study Electronic Engineering. I found out about this opportunity through Lymington Rushmore Holidays to which I have been going for many years."

“Hey I’m Freya, and I’m from Oxford – best city in the world. I’m hoping to go to Edinburgh or Durham next year (I have yet to hear from them) to study Psychology and Philosophy. For my gap year I went to France September to December, teaching English in a couple of schools, and now I’m here in Uganda. I’m really looking forward to starting the teaching. I hope be of use to the schools and serve God while I’m out here, but also to learn something as well. This is a huge challenge for me, so prayers are very much appreciated. X”

"I was at Birmingham University studying History until the summer, where I heard about the Crosslink trips. I attend Chessington Evangelical Church and live in South London. Since September I have worked at an international development company where I received many tips about life in Kampala (although mostly on which restaurants to go to!)"
Julia
" I used to work for Crosslinks which is how I heard about the opportunity to be a leader on the Smile team to Uganda. I've been going to Emmanuel Wimbledon for about 4yrs which is how I heard about the job in Crosslinks, and right at the start I came to Emmanuel because I moved to London with a uni friend called Mary who had heard of the church through her church back at home... so I COULD blame this whole thing on her!!!"
Mark
"I work for Lymington Rushmore Holidays as an Associate, which involves a fair spread of administration, speaking in schools about Jesus, and leading teams to Uganda! I love watching any sport (especially Rushden and Diamonds FC), and playing anything with a ball when I get the chance. I'm also a keen musician, hardly ever separated from my i-pod (other MP3 players are available!)"
Rosie
"I'm Rosie and I have been working as a gappie in a london prep school up until now! After my gap year I'm off to Cardiff to do Medicine. I love sport and can't wait to share my interest with the Ugandan's! I am also however very excited about teaching other things and sharing the gospel! What is white and can't climb trees?...a fridge!! hehe!"

“Hi I’m Sam Roberts, I live in Norfolk and am planning to go to Bristol next october to read Economics and Management. In the meanwhile I am in Uganda with the expectation of really getting outside the bubble and help others. At the same time I am hoping not only to develop my own faith but help others get to grips with theirs. My interests include fencing, saxophone, singing and most country sports being a proud country bumpkin…”
Sarah
“Hey there! I’m Sarah! I’m from sunny Solihull! I decided to do a gap year in the summer because I felt that God was telling me to step outside my comfort zone – to really rely on him. I also wanted to do something to bring glory to God and what better than spreading the gospel in Uganda! Next year I’m either going to Bristol or Durham to study Biology – exciting or what! Hope you’ve enjoyed reading this website and thanks for all your thoughts and prayers – really appreciated! X”

I am a keen tennis player and artist and worked as a post boy in a Job centre to raise the money for this trip- well fun, not.I go to church in West Wickham (Kent).
